1929~2013
Maury "The Magnificent" Allen Thomas is a beloved son, brother, husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was born in Provo, Utah on November 10, 1929. He served his country in the Navy during the Korean War. He married his eternal companion and sweetheart on October 15, 1954 and was sealed for time and all eternity in 1956 in the Salt Lake Temple.
He was an entrepreneur and established Quality Cleaners & Drapery Service in 1958, which continues to run today. He loved his community and contributed to youth football, coached youth baseball, was the president of the Chamber of Commerce, a member of the Rotary Club, and was involved in many other community activities. He was an artist and model railroad train enthusiast, but his biggest passion was golf and he spent many weekends at the Hobble Creek Golf course.
He passed away content and happy in his sleep on the morning of February 22, 2013. He was surrounded by those he loved most in life, his family.
He is survived by his wife and sweetheart of 58 years, Joan Elaine Thomas, son Rich Allen Thomas, and three daughters Michelle Elaine Porter, Lori Lynn Chandler and Julie Ann Johnson, their spouses, ten grandchildren and five great-grandsons
The family would like to thank iCare Home Health & Hospice, and especially Alton Johnson with Care Minders, for the loving care they gave. The family would also like to express appreciation for the many friends and angels that have rendered so much service.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 27, 2013 at 11 a.m. in the Spring Creek 9

Ward, 355 East Center, Springville, UT. Friends may call on Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Wheeler Mortuary, 211 E 200 S, Springville or Wednesday 1 hour prior to the services at the church. Burial will be in the Historic Springville City Cemetery.
