1916-2014
Mary Elizabeth Baldwin Bird returned to her Heavenly Father on Oct. 22, 2014 at the age of 97
She was born in Blackfoot Idaho on Nov. 24, 1916 to Lora and Sarah Ann Moore Baldwin. She married Richard Stanley Bird in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on Oct. 11, 1939.
Beth was very active in the LDS Church holding numerous positions throughout her life. She was also very involved with the Springville Senior Citizen organization for over 45 years. Beth was well known for her cooking skills both in church assignments, her employment and especially for her friends and family. She was the first Miss Spanish Fork in 1938 to ride on the 24
th
of July parade float. She was a lifelong resident of Mapleton and was well loved and respected by all who know her.
Beth is survived by her children Janeal Duffin, Dean Bird and Ella Marie Dunn. She has 13 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren, 6 great great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother Hugh Baldwin and son Wendell Bird.
Services will be held on Monday, October 27, 2014 at 11 a.m. in the Mapleton 16
th
Ward, 1316 South Main, Mapleton, UT. Viewings will be held on Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Mapleton Wheeler Mortuary, 82 W 400 N, Mapleton and Monday 1 hour prior to the services at the church. Burial will be in the Spanish Fork City Cemetery.
