Martin LeRoy Williamson, 88, loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather passed away peacefully on Monday, October 8, 2012, due to heart complications. Martin returned to the loving arms of his parents, sister Margaret (Peg) Camp and family who preceded him. Martin LeRoy enjoyed his last days surrounded by his family and loving wife, Lou Jean Robbins Wil�liamson.
Martin LeRoy was born March 17, 1924, in Orem, Utah to Bertil Martin & Anna Karolina Wil�liamson. He grew up learning the workings of the dairy business. When a sophomore in high school he became the sole operator of the family farm due to his fathers passing.
Martin LeRoy loved the dairy and farming; taking great pride in his Holstein herd pedigree and crops. During WWII, he served his country in the Merchant Marines. In his later years, Martin LeRoy loved planting his garden and sharing the harvest with many neighbors, building furniture for his family, being outdoors and Arabian horses.
After his mother passed away, Martin LeRoy served a mission in Norway, while hiring a neigh�bor to run his dairy. He married Lou Jean Robbins in the Logan Temple on November 17, 1953 and together they have five children. Martin LeRoy later served a mission with his loving wife Lou Jean in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. He loved serving in his church holding many positions, including working in the LDS temple for many years until his health would no longer permit. He loved the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Martin is survived by his wife, Lou Jean, their children Garth (Rebecca) of Payson, Utah; Jeanne (Robert) Crews of Glendale, Arizona; Layne of Billings, Montana; Jill Newton of Provo, Utah; Vickie (Scott) Phillips of Payson, Utah; sixteen grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held in his honor on Saturday, October 13, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. in the LDS 16th Ward Chapel, 1316 South Main Street, Mapleton. A viewing for friends and family will be held Friday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Wheeler Mortuary Home, 82 West 400 North, Mapleton. Saturday prior to the memorial service additional viewing from 9:30-10:45 a.m. Interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery with military rites by the American Legion.
