Marrian Lael Guymon Christensen

d. July 1, 2014

1924 ~ 2014

Marrian Lael Guymon Christensen passed away at her home in Springville, July 1, 2014. She was born May 10, 1924 to F. Marion Guymon and Mabel Diantha Behunin Guymon in Huntington, Utah. She was the 7th of nine children and was proud to be named after her father. She loved growing up in a large family in a small town.

Mother always loved school from the first day. Her high school years were filled with rehearsals, dances, dates and fun times. She graduated from North Emery High School in 1942. After graduation, life changed dramatically, as almost all the young men left to serve in World War II.

Mother married Owen D. Christensen December 15, 1942 in the Salt Lake Temple. They made their first home in American Fork, Utah where dad worked on his family farm and began working in the gasoline and oil business. After five years mother and dad moved to American Falls, Idaho in order for dad to further his business opportunities. In 1956 the family moved to Springville where dad established Christensen Oil and Crest Distributing Company in Provo.

Mother developed her talents in singing, sewing, quilt making, and painted many beautiful oil paintings which will be a legacy left for her family.

She is preceded in death by her husband, her parents and all her siblings. What a joyous reunion awaited her. She is survived by one brother-in-law, Max Larsen, and four children; Joan Huff (Philip), Tyra Barrett (Bruce), Todd Christensen (Linda), Kurt Christensen (Kelley), 15 grandchildren and 37 great grandchildren.

We give a special thanks to Holly Tanner for her love and service to Mother for several yearsa"taking care of her every need.

Funeral services will be Monday, July 7, 2014 at 11:00 AM. There will be a viewing prior to the service from 9:30-10:45 AM in the LDS chapel at 245 South 600 East, Springville.
