Marjorie Helen Simkins Berrett

June 4, 1924 — March 5, 2008

Marjorie Helen Simkins Berrett, 83 returned to her Father in Heaven on March 5, 2008. She was the youngest daughter of George Albert and Florence Mabel White Simkins. She was born June 4, 1924 in Eureka, Utah and moved to Springville when she was one year old. She received her education in Springville, Utah where she was active as a student body officer, and she graduated from Springville High School in 1942 prior to attending Brigham Young University. She served faithfully as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in many capacities including ward Primary President and Relief Society President, and as councilor in the Stake Relief Society.

She married Darrell Alden Berrett, Sept 4, 1946 in the Salt Lake Temple, and raised her family in Provo. She is survived by five children, Barbara, (Kent) McKell of Ferron, Utah, Bill (Debra) of St. George, Utah, Brad (Paula), of Provo, Brenda, (Rick) Svendsen of Provo, and Boyd (still looking for the perfect woman- now accepting applications) of Provo. She is survived by 13 grand children (Melissa McKell Winters, Mark McKell, Mike McKell, Ashley McKell Christiansen, Brian McKell, Zechariah Berrett, Elizabeth Berrett, Si Berrett, Brandon Berrett, Jennifer Svendsen Jones, Erik Svendsen, Brooke Svendsen, Jessica Svendsen, and 11 great grand children.

She was a great wife and mother who loved to be surrounded by her family. Her potato salad was known as the best across the universe (ask Si). She love to laugh and was fun to be around. She worked for Robert Hales MD Ophthalmologist, in Provo where she loved serving people. She will be missed by all who knew her.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 8, 2008, at the Pleasant View Second Ward, Stadium Avenue Chapel, 650 E. Stadium Ave. Provo. Family and friends may visit Friday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Wheeler Mortuary, 211 E. 200 S in Springville, and Saturday morning from 9:30- 10:45 a.m prior to the funeral service at the Stadium Avenue Chapel. Interment will be held at the East Lawn Memorial Cemetery.
