Marie C Hamilton

August 7, 2008, the world lost one of the most kind, independent, funny, strong and loving women ever to grace this space. Our Mom, Marie C. Hamilton, left this day to rejoin her family who went on before to a place she described as "beautiful, happy and everyone she loved was there."



She was born on July 10, 1931 to Ivan Alma and Violet (Nanny) Moore Child in Springville, Utah. She lived in Springville her entire life and raised 5 children and influenced many other lives with her gift of love. She is survived by her 5 children: Stuart (Judy) Hamilton, Vincent (Stephanie) Hamilton, Amber (William) McKelvey, Lisa Hamilton-Womack and Tonua Hamilton; one surviving sister, Yvonne (Bonnie) Child Morgan; 11 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her eldest child, Belinda, who died at birth, who she was very much looking forward to reuniting with. She was preceded in death also by: her mother and father, two brothers and two sisters.



She will definitely be remembered for her hard work and determination. She put herself through nursing school while raising her five children as a single mother. Once she put her mind to something she accomplished it. She worked several decades for IHC as a clinical nurse and a nurse manager. She also worked many years at the Provo Temple as a Temple Worker. She was very proud of her work and her family. She was a friend to everyone and leaves behind many sad souls.



Funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 12, 2008 at Kolob Stake Center (1230 S. 500 E., Springville) at 11:00 a.m. A public viewing will precede the funeral on Monday August 11, 2008 from 6-8 p.m. at Wheeler Mortuary (211 E. 200 S., Springville) and on Tuesday, August 12, 2008 from 10-11 a.m. at Kolob Stake Center. The family request in lieu of flower donations, please celebrate Marie's life by planting a tree in her honor or any monetary donations will go toward a tree to be planted specifically to remember her life.
