Mariah Carol Jensen was born May 2, 1991 in Payson Utah. She is the youngest child of Karl B. and Carol Simonson Jensen. She returned to the loving arms of her Heavenly Father on November 18 th , 2013, after and arduous battle with depression. Mariah has been welcomed home, having completed her earthly mission. Her short 22 years of life were filled with kindness, compassion, humor, care and sensitivity. She spent her whole life putting a smile on others faces. She is affectionately known to her friends and family as the "bug".
Mariah at the tender age of 2 days attended her first softball game with her softball family. She was literally raised at the ball park. As a child she was wide eyed and eager to go anywhere and everywhere with her Dad. Her catch phrase was "can I come". Her family affectionately remembers her saying that all the time. Mariah grew up in Springville, attending Springville High where she was active in academics and Softball, and at one time raised a pig. She graduated as a proud Springville Red Devil. She enjoyed her family and making them laugh. She loved holidays and birthdays and absolutely adored her nieces and nephews. Mariah rarely cried. She always had a funny joke to tell that would brighten the mood and lighten everyones load. She had two adopted sisters in Brittany McCray, and Madie Swenson. She loved them with all her heart. She also had a very special friendship with her niece and best friend Kelli Jensen. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints and aspired to go through the temple. She was employed by dialogue telemarketing where she excelled in customer relations. She loved music, attending concerts and dances.
She is survived by her parents Karl and Carol Jensen of Springville and her 7 brothers and sisters. Adam (Sherri) Jensen, Springville, Kelly Schoppe (Joseph), Ephraim, Audrey Jensen Wilson, Salt Lake City, Andrew Jensen, Springville, Robyn Jensen, Springville, Aaron Jensen (Jennifer) , Peoria Arizona, and Ariel Jensen of Springville. Her nieces and nephews, Kelli, Kaycie, Erik, Isaac, Aspen, Shyanne, Kaleb, Carter, Gavin, Easton and her newest baby Claire. Her Grandmother Leigh Taylor Gardner, of Payson. She is also survived by many Aunts, Uncles and Cousins, whom she adored. And her soul mate Chowder. She was preceded in death by her Grandparents Oliver Budd and Viola Jensen, and Grandfathers Earl Gardner and John Dennis Simonson.
Funeral services will be held Saturday November 23, 2013 11:00 am at the Spring Creek 5 th ward chapel in Springville, Utah. 900 East 200 North. There will be a viewing from 9:00 to 10:30 am that morning. There will also be a Viewing held Friday November 22, 2013 at Wheeler Mortuary in Springville 211 East 200 South from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. Burial will be in The Springville Evergreen Cemetery located at 1997 South 400 East off Highway 89.
