Margaret May Miller Boyack (Margie), beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully on June 12, 2019. She will be deeply missed.
Margie, with her beautiful red hair and freckles, was born to John and Olive Cook Miller on March 21, 1935 – she was the youngest of five children. Margie was renowned for her artistry and creativity. She did oil painting and sculpture, original needlework and woodwork, and award-winning photography. She loved to cut and polish stones, many of which she had hiked to and dug out of the ground herself, and she used them to create objects such as picture frames, clocks, and tables of her own design. She also made jewelry, even during her last weeks.
Active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Margie loved her many callings, and she shared her musical talents by being her ward’s organist for many years. She also sang with the Springville Musettes for many years. Family was extremely important to Margie, and nothing made her happier than watching her grandchildren have fun together at a large family gathering.
Margie was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, and two of her sons, Jim and Lorin. She is survived by her husband Gary (Springville); daughters LeAnn Long (Clifton, NJ); Lisa (JP) Lilly (Pleasant Grove); MaryJane (Jim) Hewitt (Springville); and sons John (Wendy) Boyack (Monmouth, OR); and Mark (Lesa) Boyack (Spanish Fork). She is also survived by 26 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and a cherished number of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who will miss her dearly.
Special thanks to all of the staff at Ashford Assisted Living and to all of the doctors and providers that have cared for her.
Funeral services will be on Saturday, June 22, at 355 East Center Street in Springville, at 11:00 a.m., preceded by a viewing from 9:30-10:30. Interment services will be at the Evergreen Cemetery immediately following the funeral service.
