Lynne Lorraine Brown

June 1, 1943 — July 25, 2024

Provo

Lynne Lorraine Brown, 81, of Provo Utah passed away in her home on July 25, 2024. She was born on June 1,1943 to Kenneth Austin Lauritzen and Florence Manon Bayha Lauritzen in Grangeville Idaho. She married Kenneth Robert Brown on June 4,1965 and they were sealed in the Provo Utah Temple on November 28,1975.

Lynne lived with her parents and her four brothers in several towns in Idaho, Utah, and in the territory of Alaska until the family finally settled in Springville Utah where she graduated high school in 1961. Lynne attended BYU and worked in the microfiche library at the family history center in Salt Lake City. She also spent time working as an aid in a nursing home and in the sewing room at Utah Valley Hospital, but her first love was working with children. She tended from a young age and had many callings in Sunday school, young women and primary where she served with patience, kindness, and love. After 12 years of marriage, she and her husband were blessed with a miracle daughter in 1977 and followed by a second miracle daughter in 1979. Lynne was a devoted mother and grandmother and was a soft nurturing anchor for all who knew her. She loved to spend time with her family doing anything, but she most loved playing games and celebrating holidays especially Christmas with her family. She was a wicked game player and loved both jigsaw and crossword puzzles. She was also a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints with a strong testimony she gently and quietly shared with everyone by the example she set.

Lynne is survived by her daughters Laura of Provo and Emily (Justin) Christiansen of Orem, four grandchildren Kenneth "Buzz", Joseph, Asa, and Rowena, and by her brothers Robert, Michael, and Jon. She was preceded in death by her Husband, her Parents, and her Brother Kenneth Barry Lauritzen.

Funeral services will be held Friday August 2, 2024, at 11:00 am in the Grandview 17th ward chapel located at 1122 Grand Ave. Provo, Utah. A viewing will be held on Thursday evening from 6:00- 8:00 pm and Friday from 9:30-10:30 at the church. Burial will be in the Springville Evergreen cemetery.
