1940~2014
Lynn Fillmore Johnson, 73, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, June 5, 2014. Lynn was born October 12, 1940 in Provo, UT to Elmo Bert Johnson, Sr. and Thelma Luenta Fillmore. He married Genevieve Brailsford on January 31, 1964. They were married for 51 wonderful years.
Lynn attended Provo High School. After graduating, he joined the Army on July 23, 1958 and served for 6 years, where he earned metals and badges for Marksman and (sub) Machine Gun. Later on he worked for Barbizon as a manager for 25 years. Lynn was the owner of the sewing business, G&L Bias and was CEO with Dev-Co, where he continued to work until his death. His favorite things included golfing at Hobble Creek Golf Course where he sat on the Board of Directors. He also coached Little League Baseball for many years at Mapleton City, where he won many State Championships. He enjoyed hunting and camping with his family. His door was always open and he found great joy in helping others. He was an excellent father and grandfather and he loved his children and grandchildren dearly. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
Lynn is survived by his wife; daughter, Jody Penrod and 2 sons, Devin & Jason Johnson; 8 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. He is also survived by 1 brother, Elmo B. Johnson and 1 sister, Nadine Johnson. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 10, 2014 at 11 a.m. in the LDS Church at 475 N 1600 W, Mapleton, UT. Viewings will be held on Monday, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Mapleton Wheeler Mortuary, 82 W 400 N, Mapleton and Tuesday one hour prior to the services at the church. Burial will be in the Springville Evergreen Cemetery with Military Rites by the American Legion.
