1928~2013
LuWana Taylor Giles, 84, passed away Tuesday, February 26, 2013 in Provo, Utah. She was born November 3, 1928 in Salina, Utah to Allen Merlin Taylor and Helen Tooley. She married Wilbert Anthony Giles (known as Bill) August 13, 1947 in the Salt Lake Temple.
LuWana held many positions in her church through the years with the Enrichment Day lesson one of the high lights of her service. She followed in the footsteps of her grandmother, Rhoda Catherine Jameson Taylor as well as her mother, Helen and aunts, Nola and Marie and became a nurse so she could help those in need. She enjoyed this work and retired from Utah Valley Hospital in 1992. She was an avid reader, loved hand work and took up oil painting after her working years. She painted many lovely pictures and sold them all over the country and gave them to family members to enjoy also. Her summers were spent in Midway, Utah in a beautiful cabin that her husband had built for the family. Winters were spent in Washington City, Utah where many wonderful friendships were made.
She will be missed by her survivors: three sons, Fred (Jeane) Prescott, Arizona, Eric (Cynthia) Springville, Utah and David (Darlene) Provo, Utah; 13 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and her sister, Helen Sims. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband and infant sister, Betty Jean.
The family would like to thank Vivian and Rose for their special care of LuWana.
