Iona Ludene Kay Howell, 73, passed away Sept. 6, 2009, peacefully, following incidents due to a long illness. She was born and raised in Mona, Utah, to Lynn W. and Almina Johnson Kay. She was privileged to have 5 loving siblings, Marilyn Park (Cleston Deceased), Joann Christianson (John), Stephen Kay (Pat), Grant Kay (Melinda), and Clark Kay (Nadine).
She married Jack E. Howell, and they were later sealed in the Manti LDS Temple for time and eternity. She was the mother of 4 daughters, Janet Schriever (John), Julie Weight (Stan), LeeAnn Ostler (Gary), and Lori Ewell (Jerry). A daughter, Susan, passed away at birth. She had 22 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren, all of which love her dearly and will miss her greatly.
She had the honor of working at the dental office of Dr. Richard K. Miner for over 30 years and thoroughly enjoyed her time there. She was an active member of the LDS Church. She was the head of a very close family, where her skills in the home and kitchen were uncontested. She and Jack were members of the Good Sam Club and traveled as much as possible. She always loved visiting with family and friends.
Funeral services will be held Friday, Sept. 11, at 11:00 AM, at the Hobble Creek West Stake Center, 555 S. 600 E., Springville. Visiting hours will be Thursday, Sept. 10, from 6:00 8:00 PM, at the Wheeler Mortuary, 211 E. 200 S., Springville; also at 9:30 10:30 AM, at the Hobble Creek West Stake Center prior to services. Burial will be held at the Evergreen Cemetery in Springville, Utah.
