LuDeen Stallings left her earthly body surrounded by her family on September 14, 2016. She was born to Lewis & Birdie Thorpe on July 6,1929. She spent her childhood in Pioche, Nevada and later moved to Springville, Utah where she graduated from Springville High School. Soon after graduation, she met the love of her life, Golden Stalling; when he rolled in her driveway in his 1929 Model A. They were married on September 25,1947; together for almost 69 years. Golden and LuDeen moved to Mapleton Utah in 1958 where they raised 8 children. LuDeen loved spending her summers working in her flower beds, gardens, and canning her harvest every year. As the months turned to winter you could find LuDeen doing word puzzles or working on her crocheting and knitting. She was masterful at hand work and the entire family has a lifetime of treasures. When visiting Grandma and Grandpa you left their home with a full belly and a brimming heart. She was famous for Christmas Fruit Cake, Sausage Rolls, Fudge, and Grape Juice. LuDeen also loved her trips to Wendover, where you could find her sipping margaritas and playing the penny slots. However, her happiest times were sitting around the front lawn surrounded by her family, telling stories and laughing.
LuDeen was welcomed into heaven by her parents, sons' Lewis, Tim, and Glen, and many friends and relatives. She is survived by her husband Golden (Spanish Fork), children Suzzanne (Nephi), Lewis (Paula) of Payson, Larry (Jenny) of Spanish Fork, Boyd (Carolyn) of Santaquin, Eddie (Stephanie) of Spanish Fork, Julie and Nancy (Danny) of American Fork, her 25 grandchildren and 45 great grandchildren.
A Viewing will be held Sunday, September 18th from 6 to 8 pm. Funeral Services will be held Monday, September 19 at 1 pm. Both will be held at Wheeler Mortuary 211 East 200 South Springville Utah. Interment will be at Springville Evergreen Cemetery.
