1954 ~ 2012
Lori Weeks Fairbank crossed the veil after a lingering illness into the loving arms of her Savior and her Heavenly Father on Sunday, July 22, 2012 in Mapleton, Utah. Lori was born on October 3, 1954 in Columbia City, Indiana. Her parents are Phillip Harold and Rowena Magline Loe Weeks. Lori grew up in Trona, California and graduated from Trona High School where she was a cheerleader and majorette. She attended BYU and spent her adult life in Orem and Mapleton, Utah. Lori was currently employed as an administrative assistant at Franklin Elementary. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
Lori was the "neighborhood mother" who loved and cared for every child within her reach. Children gravitated to her and she welcomed them all with open arms and her gentle smile, quiet laugh and kind demeanor. Lori was humble. She found joy in making others look good while she cheered for them from the shadows. She always looked for ways to show her love through service. Lori possessed the gift of teaching. The lessons she taught were captivating, carrying strong spiritual messages. She was soft-spoken, caring, gentle, kind, loving, logical, wise, organized and patient and she never spoke ill of others. She was ever present for her beloved Kirt, for her neighborhood children and for her friends and family. She was a tender spirit who was truly guileless. Lori appreciated the out-of-doors. She and Kirt enjoyed rides up the canyon and having campfires. Lori's home was decorated to bear record of her beliefs and everyone she loved, her Savior, her family and especially Kirt. Lori loved music, she had incredible powers of perception, she loved books and she especially loved to write. She created a Christ-centered home and lived a Christ-centered life. She was a true scriptorian who was very prayerful and who knew how to receive and follow personal revelation. She talked of her Savior and her Heavenly Father in an unusually personal way because her relationship with them was unusually personal. Lori had special love in her heart for her grandchildren. Their playfulness made her laugh and brought her joy.
Lori was preceded in death by her mother. She is survived by her son, Kirt, and two grandsons, Beck and Killian, of Mapleton, Utah, her father, Phillip, and her brother, Paul (Mary), of Ridgecrest, California, her niece, Rhianna, of Sacramento, California, and her nephew, Phillip, of Phoenix, Arizona. She also leaves many friends whose lives she has forever effected in a loving way. Family and friends may call on Friday, July 27, 2012 from 10:00 -10:30 a.m. at Wheeler Mortuary, 211 E. 200 S., Springville, Utah. Graveside services will follow at Evergreen Cemetery 1997 S. 400 E. in Springville.
"Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you; not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid." (John 14:27) Lori can now rest from her worldly sorrows and feel peace in the arms of her Savior and her Heavenly Father. There will be no more pain, no more sorrow and no more loneliness.
