Lorene Adrienne Thienpont Bolen died peacefully on November 29, 2012, in Springville, UT.
Lorene was born March 7, 1928 in West Terra Haute, Indiana the seventh child of Victor and Elizabeth Thienpont. After the death of her father, she and her mother moved to Rock Springs, WY. She gave up going to high school to help with her niece during World War II. It was in Rock Springs that she met her lifelong love, Don Bolen. They were married on August 4, 1946 and moved to Evanston, Wyoming to raise their family. They were married for 60 years at the time of Don's death in 2006. They spent their last few years in Springville, UT. Lorene was very loving and proud of her family.
Lorene learned the value of hard work as a child and it continued through her lifetime. Many stores and schools in Evanston knew the work ethic of Lorene. She was a 'people person' who deeply loved her friends, especially 'her girls'.
She is survived by her three children Sharon (Peter) Shidler, Santa Rosa, CA; Linda (Russ) Shaw, Kemmerer, WY; Donald (Patrice) Bolen, Springville, UT; 11 grandchildren, and 17 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Melford, Raymond, Everett, and Leon; sisters Anita and Thelma; and husband Don.
Lorene and her family appreciated the love and care she received during her last four years at Canterbury Assisted Living. Lorene considered them a part of her family. She dearly loved her faithful visiting teachers Karen and Peggy. The family also appreciated the help and support from First Choice Hospice.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 8 at 11:00 at Crandall Funeral Home in Evanston, WY. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in the Evanston City Cemetery.
