Lois Orme Colton age 93 passed away on July 7, 2013 at home in her sleep. She was born in Honeyville, Utah, the sixth of seven children to Herbert William and Arvilla Wight Orme on Aug. 12, 1919.

Lois graduated from Box Elder High School in Brigham City and Steven Henagers Business College in Salt Lake City. She worked in Logan for the Agricultural Adjustment Agency at Utah State. During World War II, she worked at Bushnell General Army Hospital in Brigham City. After the war, she worked at the Atomic Energy Plant, in Richland, Washington, and then at the Salt Lake Clinic as a medical secretary.

She married Anthon H. (Tony) Colton in Honeyville, Utah on Oct. 25, 1957. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple, January 5, 1972.

Lois and Tony lived in Wyoming, Salt Lake City, Bountiful and Orem in the Vineyard area. Tony preceded her in death in May 1996.

Lois was a member the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She served a two year stake mission and held positions in Relief Society, Young Women, and Primary, and stake extraction for family history. She spent many years and hours working on her own family research and writing histories for many of her ancestors as well as her own and Tony's. It was a work she truly enjoyed.

Lois loved reading, history, sewing, camping, and horseback riding.

She is survived by her two daughters; Paula (Klark) Walker, Springville, Nancy (Kent) Walker, Mt. Pleasant. She is also survived by ten grandchildren; Jayme, Nicole, Payden, Amanda (Matt) Prina, Emma, Megan, Wil, Camille, Colyn, and Lauren. She is also survived by one sister-in-law, Grace Orme, Brigham City. She was preceded in death by her husband, Tony, her parents, Herbert William and Arvilla Wight Orme, four brothers: Clark, Herbert, Clinton and Robert Orme and two sisters, Irene Smith and Afton Rhodes.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 13th, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. in the Hobblecreek LDS chapel located at 1440 E. 900 S., Springville. A viewing will be held Saturday from 9:00 - 10:45 a.m. Burial will be in the Orem City Cemetery.
