Lois was born November 27, 1920 in Benjamin, Utah, to Carl Edwin and Esther Adamson Johnson. She passed away peacefully at her home in Springville on July 23, 2008. She grew up in Springville, Utah, where she graduated from Springville High School and also attended BYU. She married her high school sweetheart, Earl S. Child in the Salt Lake Temple on March 5, 1941. They are the parents of four children. She was actively involved in many activities in the LDS Church. She served in all auxiliaries on the ward and stake levels. She was involved in many civic and cultural organizations. She belonged to the Cultural Arts Club throughout her married life. She represented Springville as the Federated Women's Clubs' "My Fair Lady". She was on the charter committee to form the Festival of Trees. Lois and Earl were the grand marshals of the annual Art City Days Parade (Mom loved parades).
Lois was known for her exquisite handwork and sewing. She made beautiful clothes for herself and family. Her handwork pieces are family heirlooms. All eighteen grandchildren have a handmade quilt made for their high school graduation. She loved reading, gardening, homemaking, golfing and traveling.
She actively supported her husband in all his endeavors, whether civic, church or business. She was the woman behind the man, yet she was always a lady.

(Rebecca) Child of Springville; daughter, Linda (Zane) Lubin of Scottsdale, AZ; daughter, Christine (Rod) Oldroyd of Springville; 18 grandchildren and 37 great-grandchildren.
