Linda Lee Breckenridge Lauritzen was born on July 9th, 1944, in Provo, Utah to Edison and LaVeive Breckenridge, the eldest of their four children. Linda passed away peacefully in her sleep, surrounded by her loving daughters on October 19th, 2024, in Provo, Utah.
She met her husband while attending Brigham Young University where she studied vocal performance, a skill that would serve her family well over the years. She married her sweetheart Kenneth Barry Lauritzen in the Manti LDS temple on May 28th, 1964. Linda was a dedicated mother to her nine children and with her husband raised a musical family that sang and played at countless weddings, funerals, musicals, and other events. She was a talented seamstress and loved to paint, make Christmas ornaments, and quilt, as well as many other arts and crafts. She was a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served faithfully in many callings throughout her lifetime, including a service mission with her husband.
Linda is survived by her children, Kristi (Lloyd) Jensen of Orem, Utah, Jenylyn (Mark) Grierson of Springville, Utah, Amy Lauritzen of Springville, Utah, David (Lizzy) Lauritzen of Dubai, UEA, Mindy (Jason) Brown of Pocatello, Idaho, Heidi (Jason) Parkinson of Burley, Idaho, Holly (Matthew) Emerson of South Jordan, Utah, and Matt (Amanda) Lauritzen of Richmond, Virginia, as well as 42 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her stepmother, Donna Breckenridge, two half-brothers, Michael (Noelle) Breckenridge and Jeffrey (Risa) Breckenridge, and her halt-sister, Katharine (Steven) Brinton. She was preceded in death by her husband, Barry, her oldest daughter, Lori, her sister, Julie, and her brothers, John Edison and Robert.
Funeral services will be Saturday, October 26, 2024, at 11:00 am in the Grasslands 3rd Ward chapel located at 351 N. 1200 W. in Springville, Utah, 84663. There will be a public visitation from 9:30 to 10:30 at the same address. Burial will be in the Springville Evergreen Cemetery immediately following the services.
The family wishes to thank the staff of the Courtyard at Jamestown as well as the hospice staff at Utah Home Health for their kind and loving care.
