Lila Marolyn Muhlestein, 81, of Springville, Utah. Marolyn was surrounded by her husband & family as she peacefully graduated & moved on to her next estate, on March 25, 2016. She was born in Twin Falls ID, on Sept 14, 1934 to Hyrum (Buck) Harrison & Lila Dahlquist Severe. When her mother, Lila, passed away, Marolyn was adopted & raised by her aunt Merlin Severe Collins & husband George A. Collins.
Marolyn graduated from Mullen High School in Idaho. She joined the US Army where she met her husband Gerald R. Muhlestein. They were sealed in the Manti LDS Temple on July 5, 1957. Marolyn studied nursing in Salt Lake City & later attended Brigham Young University.
She held several ward and stake callings throughout her life. She served a Family History Mission, and spent many valuable hours researching her family history. She & Gerald raised 3 children, Russell (Debbie Robison), Jerilyn (late Dr. Ralph B. Brown), Robert (Maralee Bone), & had 17 grandchildren. Over the years, she enjoyed working at the Territorial Statehouse State Park Museum in Fillmore, Utah. She managed her household & family with enthusiasm, thrift & love! She was skilled in sewing, cooking, quilting, gardening, canning, & organizing. She loved knowing what was going on in the world and gathered information via news, reading, and digital media. She worked alongside her husband as he built or remodeled 17 homes during their nearly 60 years of marriage. After retirement they moved to Springville, UT where she lovingly cared for her mother for 20 years. Marolyn was eager to teach & encourage her children & grandchildren to build lives of happiness & fulfillment! She loved learning, and strongly encouraged all to gain knowledge and have ongoing educational pursuits. Her kindness and generosity have influenced the lives of her family for good! She will be most deeply missed by her sweetheart & husband as their paths are now separated for a time! We will miss her happy little “hm-hm-hum”, her smiles & cheerful greetings! Until we meet again Nonnie, we love you! Families are Forever!
