Levi Robert Ames

Levi Robert Ames, age 74 of Springville, passed away Tuesday, May 15, 2012. He was born March 27, 1938 in Idaho Falls, Idaho to Leroy Ames and Ethel Effie Orner. He married Dorothy Beth Hopkins on October 3, 1959 and they were later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple. Dorothy preceded him in death in 1998.



Levi served in the US Navy. He retired from Pacific States Cast Iron Pipe Company after 37 years. He loved being a father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served as a temple worker in the Provo Temple, a member of the High Priest group leadership and as a church custodian.



He is survived by his children: Robert (Jeanice) of Spanish Fork; Mary (Mark) Gibson of Eagle Mountain; Kenneth (Jody) of South Jordan; Debra Ames of Stirling, New Jersey; 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He is also survived by one brother and two sisters. He was preceded in death by one grandchild, three brothers and two sisters.



The family would like to thank Canterbury Assisted Living and Maple Creek Hospice for their loving care.



Funeral services will be held Friday, May 18, 2012 at 1 p.m. in the LDS Chapel at 1006 E. 200 S., Spanish Fork. There will be a viewing held Thursday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Wheeler Mortuary, 211 E. 200 S., Springville and Friday at the church from 11:45 to 12:45 prior to the service. Burial will be in the Springville Evergreen Cemetery with Military Rites by the American Legion.
