Leslie Earl Brown

Leslie Earl Brown age 76, long time resident of Springville Utah, passed away on January 5th, 2024. He was born on December 31st, 1947 in Chihuahua Mexico to Murlyn and Marzelle Brown. He was the second of 8 children. His first marriage was to Connie Stephens on May 23rd, 1968. He then married Cheryl Ann Gatenby on October 24th, 1981. They were later sealed in the Manti Utah temple on January 25th, 2014, and celebrated 42 full years of marriage.

Les served in the US Navy from July 1968 to July 1972, with a deployment to Vietnam as a hydronic mechanic on the USS Kitty Hawk. He worked as a General Contractor and drywall professional for most of his life, running his own business and working to the last moments of his life for Nutek Enterprises. He loved golfing, boating, camping, and horseback riding. He was a member and served multiple terms of leadership in the Orem Horseback Riding Club.

He loved being with his family, including his 6 children; Stephanie Anne Ritter, Cory Shawn Brown, Melisa Dawn Hunt, Amanda Kay Kendall, Chad Leslie Brown, and CJ Jade Brown, 18 grandchildren, 9 Great Grandchildren and over 30 foster kids.

Drawing and traditional hand drawn structural drafting were among his favorite talents. He could make or fix anything, and loved to work with his hands. He was a cowboy in the truest sense. Hard working, huge heart, loved his country and his family.

A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday January 13th, 2024 at 11am at Wheeler Mortuary located at 211 East 200 South in Springville, UT. The service will conclude with military rites from the American Legion.

Our husband, father, and friend will be greatly missed.
