Leona Foote Nuttall (Nonnie), 91, of Spanish Fork, Utah, passed away peacefully with family by her side on Monday, August 22, 2022. She was born March 9, 1931, in Salina, Utah, to Elray Andrew and LaWise Mellor Foote. She was the oldest of five children and grew up on a farm, going to work with her daddy and grandpa, and would boast that she could double-clutch a tractor by the age of nine. She loved growing up with and having fun with her four siblings. She married the love of her life, Verl George Nuttall, on August 20, 1965, in the Salt Lake LDS temple. He preceded her in death on May 4th, 1976.
Leona loved her camping trips to Fish Lake and Maple Grove with her parents and her children. She enjoyed music, crocheting, word search puzzles, reading, doing scrapbooks with her sisters, and her daily rides around Salem Pond. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who devoted her entire life to their happiness. She always made time to attend every family event and was always seen behind the lens of a camera. If it was important to a member of her family, it was important to her.
She was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served in many capacities within the Church. She loved the Savior and followed His example of selflessness. Her dedication to her callings has touched many lives.
Leona is survived by her five children: Steve Nuttall of Provo, Utah; Stephanie (Dave) Decker of Cedar Hills, Utah; Cathy Nuttall of Spanish Fork, Utah; Jason Nuttall of Spanish Fork, Utah; and Cory (Katie) Nuttall of Santaquin, Utah; ten grandchildren, Logan, Blake, Taylor, Mitchell, Zachary, Sadie, Cierra, Andrew, Sophia and Gabby, and three great-grandchildren, Beckham, Ledger and Renna. In addition to her children and grandchildren, she created an incredible bond with Wes and Page Radford and their five children, Coleman, Adrianne, Austin, Hailey and Amelia. Leona loved and considered them as their own. She was preceded in death by her husband Verl Nuttall, her parents Elray and LaWise Foote, her sister Marjorie, and her grandson Dillon.
In lieu of a funeral, a graveside service will be held Saturday, August 27, 2022, at 11:30 at the Orem Cemetery located at 1520 N. 800 E., Orem, Utah. Out of respect for Leona’s wishes, a closed casket viewing for friends and family will be held Friday evening, August 26, 2022, from 6-8 pm at Wheeler Mortuary, at 211 E 200 S in Springville, Utah.
