Our loving, caring, sweetheart, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great-great grandmother, sister and friend to all Leola Beardall Frandsen Hazel Hamann passed peacefully surrounded by her extended family into the loving arms of her Heavenly Father and family that were waiting her arrival, May 6, 2008. She was born March 30, 1920 to Alvin Romanzo and Sarah Scott Beardall in Springville, Utah. One of 16 children and one of three sets of twins.
Mother worked at a variety of jobs during her long life but the job she enjoyed the most was being a great wife and mother.
Leola married Andrew LaVern Frandsen and four daughters came from that marriage, they were later divorced, and she married Don Henry Hazel. From that union came three children. Don was killed in a deer hunting accident Oct. 18, 1970. She then married her sweetheart Harvey Willis Hamann and they have been together for the past 35 years.
Mother and Harvey were constant companions taking trips to Iowa, Nebraska, Alaska, California and many trips to Nevada to play and enjoy life.
She is survived by her husband Harvey and children, Evelyn (Dutch) Walters Pleasant Grove, Utah, Patricia (Allan) Harmer Mapleton, Utah, Mary Diamond, Clara Rawlings Springville, Utah, Robert (Sylvia) Hazel Bakersfield, California, Donetta (Clyde) Yates Delta, Utah and Merrill (Carrie) Hazel Sandy, Utah. Two step-children Harvey (Sherrie) Hamann Jr. Colorado Springs, Colorado and Debbie Ludlow Omaha, Nebraska, also two adopted children Bob and Gayle Stringham Provo, Utah.
Leola leaves behind a great legacy with 25 grandchildren, 62 great-grandchildren, and 7 great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters, Janette Jones Orem, Utah, Ida Hardy Springville, Utah and one brother Melvin Beardall, Lawrence, Utah.
She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Doretha Cook, Doris and Dora Beardall, her identical twin Leota Cox, Jean Merriweather, Beth Beardall, Ray, Oran, Donald, Scott and Leo Beardall. Leola also was preceded in death by two great grandchildren Rhiannon Garner and Andrew Rawlings.
A viewing for friends and family will be held at the Wheeler Mortuary, 211 East 200 South Springville, Utah on Friday May 9, 2008 from 6 to 8 p.m. and at the L.D.S. Chapel 1, 5, 6 Wards 1230 South 500 East Springville from 10 to 11 a.m. before the funeral at 11 a.m. on Saturday May 10, 2008. Interment will be in the Springville Evergreen Cemetery.
