"Together Again"
Our loving father, grandpa, brother and friend passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his loving family from Giant Cell Arteritis on December 4, 2013. He was welcomed by the outreached loving arms of his eternal companion, Norma Vee Hatfield. He was born in Springville to Arthur and Verdella Holt Hatfield on December 31, 1924. He married his high school sweetheart on March 26, 1943 in Provo, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti Temple. Mom and Dad were married 66 wonderful years. He worked at Pacific States Cast Iron Pipe Company for 38 years.
In 1954, he assisted in starting the Cub Scout Program in Springville. He had many church callings. Leland was known for his beautiful flower and vegetable gardens that he generously shared with his family and friends. Everyone loved his cantaloupes. He loved working in his yard and farming.
He enjoyed pitching for his church and city league Fast Pitch Softball teams. He loved camping, hunting and most of all fishing.
He was a veteran of WWII and an active member of the American Legion Veterans for many years.
