Leah Rose Dudley Snelson, 86, passed away on March 30, 2012 surrounded by her daughters.
She was born March 28, 1926 in Spanish Fork, Utah to Myrvin Wade and Myrtle Mortensen Dudley. She married Marl Don Snelson on July 20, 1944 in Spanish Fork, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple. Leah served faithfully in the LDS church in many capacities throughout her life. She enjoyed serving in the Primary and quilting with the Relief Society sisters. Leah excelled at working with her hands and in her younger years worked at Spanish Fork Sportswear making clothes. She was as an accomplished seamstress and often made dresses for all five of her little girls. She later worked until retirement at the Utah State Hospital as a supervisor over housekeeping.
She loved to camp and fish. Leah and Don traveled with the Good Sam's and made many wonderful friends. She enjoyed hunting deer and elk and on more than one occasion she outdid the men.
Leah is survived by her four daughters, Donna Peirce, Eileen (Dean) Bardsley, Lynda (Dennis) Goble, Cindy (Ken) Lowder; sister, Kathy Porter; 59 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Don; her parents; her daughter Dianne; her brothers Glen and Ralph Dudley; her sister Jean Hutchings; grandson Ricky Curtis.
Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Wednesday, April 4, 2012, at the LDS Church located at 860 East 200 North in Springville, Utah. Viewings will be held on Tuesday evening, April 3, from 6-8 pm at Wheeler Mortuary located at 211 East 200 South, Springville, Utah and on Wednesday from 9:30-10:30 am prior to the services at the church. Burial will be in the Springville Evergreen Cemetery.
