Leah Burningham Measom, 93, passed away on March 12, 2023, in Springville, Utah. She was born in her parent’s home on December 5th, 1929, in Vineyard, Utah to Francis Elmer and Afton Shumway Burningham. Her parents and sisters: Lawana, Alene, Frances and Joyce were all there to greet her at her passing, along with her husband, Jack Ira Measom, whom she married on April 18, 1953, and was later sealed in the Manti Temple. Dad passed away on their 58th anniversary in 2011.
Leah and Jack gardened and canned everything they grew. They also processed their own meat from hunting, raising rabbits, and fishing. Leah also loved to crochet afghans, quilt, embroidery, and make porcelain dolls.
Leah and Jack had four sons and adopted a daughter: Richard Measom (passed in 2015) Charles Measom (stillborn) Kelly Measom, Debbie (Rich) Chase, and Brad (Britni) Measom. They raised their family and lived in Springville the remainder of their lives.
They have 13 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren, all whom she loved dearly.
There will be a viewing and celebration of life at Wheeler Mortuary, 211 E 200 S Springville, UT 84663, on Saturday, March 18th, 2023. The viewing will begin at 1:30 p.m. with celebration of life beginning at 2:00 p.m.
Then she will be laid to rest at the Springville City Cemetery, 443 S 200 E St., Springville, UT 84663.
Afterwards, friends and family are invited to a luncheon in the cultural hall of the LDS Church located at 55 N Main St., Springville, UT 84663 United States
