Lawrence Movell Gee

January 14, 1925 — December 13, 2015

Our beloved father, grandfather and great grandfather Lawrence Movell Gee passed away Sunday December 13, 2015 at the age of 90, being reunited with his sweetheart of 67 years V. NaDean Gee.
Lawrence was born on January 14, 1925 in Ephraim, Utah to James Arthur Gee and Ruth (Merriam) Gee. He was the 4th of five children. Lawrence spent his early years in Manti until the death of his father at age seven, the family then moved to Provo. Dad only completed the 11th grade before having to drop out of school to help support the family.
He worked many odd jobs until WWII broke out and then he enlisted in the Army with his brother George to fight in the Pacific. He was discharged from the Army on November 6, 1946. After returning home he married V. NaDean Roberts on August 15, 1947 in Elko, Nevada. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Provo temple. They raised three daughters, Karren, Kristine and Denise in Springville, living there for 59 years.
Lawrence always worked very hard to support his family. He worked at Geneva Steel for 8 years before being laid off. Later he went to work for Pete Ashton in Provo for 15 years as the foreman of the new and used car department. The company sold out and dad went to work for Ned Kofford trucking, driving with his brother George for 11 years before retiring in January 1987.
Dad was an avid outdoorsman, loving to hunt, fish and go camping with his family. He could build and fix just about anything and loved helping others. Dad will be missed greatly by his family.
Dad was preceded in death by his wife, a grandson Brice K. Boman, his parents, three brothers, James A. Gee, George L. Gee, Lester A. Gee and a sister Lois Gee (Harris). He is survived by his three loving daughters, Karren (Russell) Terry, Kristine (Jed) Hunter and Denise (Richard) Johnson, 11 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.
A special thanks to the Abbington in Mapleton and Sasha of Tender Care Hospice for their kindness and loving care of our father.
Graveside services will be held Saturday December 19th at Noon at the Evergreen cemetery with full military rites. There will be a family only viewing at 11:00 at Wheeler Mortuary, 211 East 200 South in Springville prior to the graveside service.
