Laurel Ostler Tuttle, 85, passed away on Wednesday October 11, 2023, while surrounded by her loving family. She was born June 7, 1938, in Spanish Fork, Utah, to Velda and George Ostler.
Laurel graduated from Springville High School. She married Earl Tuttle in the Salt Lake Temple and was married for 61 years. Laurel worked for many years as a lunch worker for the Nebo School District before her retirement. She made lifelong friendships with many of her coworkers.
Mom taught us how to work hard and gave us confidence in our ability to accomplish difficult things. Mom was a wonderful cook and loved making Sunday dinner for her family. She enjoyed spending summer evenings and holidays out on the front lawn where family and neighbors would gather to talk and laugh about good times. Mom loved crocheting, embroidering, playing the guitar, sewing, and making flannel quilts for her new grandkids. She loved watching good love stories, especially Hallmark movies. Most of all she loved spending time with her family. A visit to Grandma’s house was always filled with love, a treat and a warm hug goodbye. She treasured her family.
Laurel is survived by 5 of her children, Ron (Jana) Tuttle, Bonnie (Russell) Giles, Mark (Kristen) Tuttle, Jan (Todd) Howell, and Amy (Ryan) Peterson, 20 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Earl Tuttle, her son Steven Tuttle, her parents George and Velda Ostler, and her two sisters, Verna Locke and Darlene McBroom.
We express our heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Ashford Assisted Living for their kindness, care and love for our mother.
