Laurel was born in Springville on October 17, 1930 to Earl and Jessie Snow Lowe. She passed away at home on December 30th from heart failure. She was the oldest of seven children. Her brother Richard Lowe and sister Carol Lowe Elder preceded her in death, but she is survived by her brothers Douglas, Lynn, James (Jim) and Russell. She married Donald Edgar Dansie in 1949. She is survived by her children Linda Dansie Schiller, Marvin Dansie, Monte (Nick) Dansie, Rex Dansie, Sheila Dansie Park, Donna Dansie, Paula Dansie, John Dansie and Jesse Dansie. Laurel has 25 grandchildren and 44 great-grandchildren, the last one born Tuesday of this week.
Laurel was a wonderful seamstress and made a lot of her children's clothes when they were younger. She made beautiful quilts for each of her children and grandchildren's weddings, for every Lowe reunion for over 50 years and for the dozens of babies that came along. She loved gardening when the weather permitted and filled her house with plants. One year, she potted and brought over 20 azaleas into the house for the winter, covering a large share of the kitchen cabinets and driving Donald crazy dodging plants for 6 months!
Laurel enjoyed this last Christmas season, especially the family party where over 50 people were able to make it. She made her traditional holiday raspberry jam and shipped it to all of her kids. We'll miss that. Her home was always open and welcoming to family and visitors. You would usually find her at the table playing a game of solitaire or reading. She loved books.
