Obituary for Laurel Turner Braun

Laurel Turner Braun was born on October 7, 1939 to parents Glen H. Turner and Lucille Fugal in Pleasant Grove, Utah. Laurel was raised in Springville, where she attended and graduated from Springville Junior High and Springville High School. She attended Brigham Young University for two years. Laurel married Raymond "Sonny" Braun in 1960—the marriage was later solemnized (1963) in the Manti Temple.

Laurel had three sons: Scott (deceased- Betsy Brackner, divorced; DeAnn Kummer); Steve (Vickie Allred); and Shea. She had six grandchildren: Angie Park (Jeremey), Rachel Johnson, Travis Braun, Brandt Braun, Chris Braun, and David Braun. Step grandchildren: Jason Kummer and Angie Coe (Justin). Great grandchildren: Ember Park, Caden Park, Shelby Johnson, and Hayden Braun. Step great grandchildren: Chelsea Coe, Jaiden Coe, and McKenna Coe.

Laurel loved to design and decorate her home. She loved golf, books, family games, crossword puzzles, ladies club, and card group of forty-five years. Laurel was especially grateful for all of her wonderful friends and the association she had with them throughout her life.

Laurel is survived by her husband Sonny Braun, and three siblings: Douglas G. Turner (Susan); Rebecca Rosenlof (Don); and Jon W. Turner (Marie). Sister Sharon Hicks (Wayne) is deceased. In-laws are Jerry and Linda Braun, Norma Turner, and Mary Norman.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday December 9th at 11:00 am at the Springville 9th Ward Stake Center. The address is 495 South Canyon Road. Viewing will be held at Wheeler Mortuary, 211 E. 200 S., Springville on Tuesday from 6 to 8 pm, as well as at the Stake Center one hour prior to the funeral. Burial will be in the Historical Springville Cemetery.
