1942 ~ 2012
Larry J Sanford, age 69, passed away October 25, 2012, surrounded by his wife and children. After valiantly enduring years of pain, he has finally been released from mortality to return to his Father in Heaven.
Larry was born November 9, 1942, the fifth child of W. Howard Sanford and Mary Ellen Whiting. He graduated from Springville High School and served an LDS mission to England.
Larry met and fell in love with Lynnae Argyle, and they were married for eternity on February 10, 1966, in the Salt Lake Temple. They made their home in Springville, Utah, in a house that Larry built himself.
He has always been a hard worker with numerous talents and interests. He could fix anything. Over the years, Larry has been a boat mechanic, an upholsterer, a builder, a fire fighter, and a caterer. In recent years, Larry enjoyed bringing happiness to children by acting as Santa. Many people have benefited from his expertise and generosity.
Larry suffered a debilitating back injury when he was only 29 years old. Despite having constant pain ever since, he worked hard, provided for his family, and accomplished many things.
Larry loved his family, serving in the church, and being in the temple.
He leaves behind his wife, Lynnae, and three children: Dee (Jenny) Sanford, Sunset, UT; Shauna (Roger) Rigby, Springville, UT; and Teresha (Nicolas) Taylor, Montrose, CO. He has 11 grandchildren and 1 great grandson. He is also survived by all of his siblings: Nanette St. Pierre, Collene Dunford, Ray Sanford, Lorna Ivie, Mary Ellen Robinson, Marjorie Bird, Richard Sanford, and Harry James.
Services will be held Tuesday, October 30, 2012 at 1 p.m. in the LDS Chapel at 860 E. 200 N., Springville. There will be a viewing held Monday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Wheeler Mortuary, 211 E. 200 S., Springville and Tuesday at the church one hour prior to the services.
Burial will be in the Springville Evergreen Cemetery.
