LaRee Jackson Miner passed away February 7, 2023, after a long struggle with cancer. She was born December 11, 1935, in Vernal, Utah to John Henry Jackson Jr. and Nan Ellsworth Jackson. She was one of seven children. She married Richard Edwin Miner on June 1, 1953, in Springville, Utah. They were later sealed in the Los Angeles Temple on March 25, 1972.
She and Richard were the parents of three children; Vicki Lynn, Jerry Dean and Randy who all preceded her in death. LaRee grew up on a small farm west of Payson, Utah and attended Payson High School. Growing up on her widow mother's farm she learned to work hard by milking cows, hauling hay, irrigating, and other farm chores. Her hard work characterized her life. Richard and LaRee first moved from Springville, Utah to California in 1962 where she worked several jobs. After retirement she volunteered for the Fullerton Police Department for 10 years. LaRee ran several marathons for the Leukemia Foundation helping raise much needed funds for that cause. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and served in many callings. One of her greatest callings was serving with the Young Women touching so many of their lives. LaRee had a magnetic personality and made friends wherever she went. She was truly loved by all.
She was preceded in death by her three children, her parents, her sisters: Velma Phillips, Edith Malcolm, Jean Taylor, Donna Payne and one brother Alton LaVon. She is survived by her husband Richard and one brother, Richard (Mary) Jackson of Orem, Utah.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 25, 2023 at Wheeler Mortuary, 211 East 200 South in Springville with a visitation from 9:30 to 10:30 prior to the services. Burial will be in the Springville Evergreen Cemetery.
