"Ding Dong the Witch is Dead"
I always told my kids that is what I wanted my obituary to say, so there it is.
I was born on May 14, 1944 on a very cold Mother's Day, as the first of 4 children, I had three brothers all of whom would never help me get a date, and yet I still managed to marry the love of my life Lee Ray Hansen and have 8 children. In my 69 years of life I accomplished many things. The things I enjoyed most in my life were being a mom, a grandmother and a hellion. I really enjoyed plastic canvas work, crocheting (even in my sleep), reading, camping, and writing to my many pen pals. I would never miss the opportunity for a family BBQ, while watching the kids play in the irrigation. All my grandkids thought it was awesome to have a four wheeling hot mama grandma who would take them for rides out on the dunes. I was a member of the LDS church where I served in Relief Society, Primary, Scouts and the library. I was a homeroom mom, homeroom grandma and PTA president.
I was preceded in death by my son Ray Lee Hansen, husband Lee Ray Hansen, parents Verl O. and Tonny (B.R.) Devenish, brother Craig T. Devenish and great grandson Adam J. Armstrong.
I am survived by my children Melody (David) Herman of Spanish Fork, Tammy (Terry) Cook of Goshen, Charlie (Stephanie) Hansen of Provo, Matt (Caregiver) of Springville, Sherri Ealey of Spanish Fork, Shelli Tracy of Alpine and Luke Hansen of Springville. I am also survived by 19 grandkids, 12 great grandkids (2 more on the way) and 3 very obnoxious dogs. I am also survived by my brothers Roy (Merilyn) Devenish of Spanish Fork and David (Deann) Devenish of Richfield.
The family wishes to thank Darlene, Jessica, and Haley for all the love and care the past month.
Funeral services will be held Monday, November 25, 2013 at 11 a.m. in the LDS Chapel at 55 North Main in Springville. There will be a viewing Sunday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Wheeler Mortuary, 211 E. 200 S., Springville or Monday at the church one hour prior to the services.
