Koyle Hatfield

June 1, 1922 — January 13, 2008

Koyle Hatfield, born June 1, 1922 in Salem, Utah to Lawrence and Mary Koyle Hatfield and passed away Sunday, January 13, 2008 in the Brigham City Nursing and Rehab of Alzheimer's and Parkinson's. Koyle married his sweetheart, Glenna Palfreyman February 20, 1943.



Koyle was raised and spent his school years in Springville. He served in the Air Force during WWII. In 1947, Koyle and Glenna moved to Naples, Idaho with their two children where he owned his own logging company and was very successful. They eventually moved to Bonners Ferry, Idaho. Koyle knew how to work and was a very hard worker.



Koyle was an active member of the LDS Church and served in many positions including a counselor in the Branch Presidency, Bishop, and also served a mission with his wife to Adam-Ondi-Ahman where they cleared land. After their mission, they did genealogy extraction work for the church and loved to attend the temple.



Woodworking was a favorite past time of Koyle's. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing and panning for gold.



He is survived by his wife, Glenna and seven children: Karl (Janice), Kathleen (Frank) Hanks, David (Kathy), Fred (Jody), William (Trudy), Brenda (Russell) DeJong, Douglas (Rhonda); 25 grandchildren and 41 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters: Louise Christensen, Nona Russell and Evelyn Hatfield; and brothers, Richard (Dawn) and Dee (Sanoma). He was preceded in death by his brothers, Leon, Reverl and Larry Hatfield; one grandson, Davey and one granddaughter, Michelle.



Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 17, 2008 at 11 a.m. in the Kolob Stake Center at 1230 South 500 East in Springville. There will be a viewing held at the church one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in the Springville Evergreen Cemetery.
