Kolene Marie Ostler Knight, passed away Friday, May 7, 2010 at her home in Springville, Utah. Her parents were William Blake Carter and Shirley Merle Carter.
Kolene was raised in Springville and lived there most of her life. She married Blaine Ostler on October 6, 1950 and they were the parents of 4 children. Blaine passed away on January 15, 1980. Kolene was sealed to Max H. Knight on December 17, 1983. Max passed away on July 28, 2007. Kolene worked in many volunteer positions, including the Springville Art Museum, Utah Valley Hospital, Provo Library, Provo Free Clinic and Young Mothers' High School. She also helped Max in his community service with the American Legion, Springville Playhouse, Kiwanis Club and civic duties. Kolene and Max served an LDS Church Mission together in Three Forks, Montana.
Kolene is survived by her children: Ron (Nora) Ostler, Marilyn (Neil) Johnson, Gary (Lee Ann) Ostler, Brian (Tiffany) Ostler; brothers: Dee Lowe and Ted Carter; sister, Arlene Christopherson; 13 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Jim Carter and sister, Beth Ann Brickey.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 11, 2010 at 11 a.m. in the Springville West 9th Ward LDS Chapel, 55 N Main, Springville, UT. Family and friends may call on Monday evening, May 10, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Wheeler Mortuary, 211 E 200 S, Springville, UT and on Tuesday at the church from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. prior to the services. Burial will be in the Springville Evergreen Cemetery
