Kevin Lynn Eppich, a man of outstanding goodness, age 62, died on October 11, 2014 in Provo, Utah of interstitial lung disease. He was born on May 4, 1952 in Ogden, Utah to Don C and Marilyn Jane Davidson Eppich.
Kevin lived in Ogden until he was 15 and then his family moved to Mountain Green, Utah. He excelled in school especially math and graduated as salutatorian from Morgan High School in 1971. He competed in wrestling and golf while at Morgan High School and had many close friends.
Kevin married Cindy Lee Harward in the Manti LDS temple on December 10, 1977 and together they welcomed and reared four daughters and one son; Marci [Daniel] Smyth, Provo, Cassy [Brayden] McBride, Spanish Fork, Clark [Brecklyn] Eppich, St. George, Chari [Michael] Hazlett, Spanish Fork and Karli [Garret] Shields, Lehi. They have 14 grandchildren who Kevin loved to be around.
He loved our Heavenly Father and had a deeply-rooted testimony of the Savior. He served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Dusseldorf, Germany 1971-1973. Through his life, he served in many capacities in the LDS Church, and was currently serving as first counselor in the Springville Dry Creek Stake presidency.
He graduated from Brigham Young University with a bachelor's and master's degree in math education and received a master's degree from Utah State University in secondary education. He taught math for 36 yearsa�"28 years at North Sevier High School and 8 at Provo High School--earning many teaching accolades over his career.
Kevin loved to golf, travel, camp, family traditions, and always took his wife on a weekly date. Through his career he coached high school wrestling, cross-country and golf. He enjoyed being around the youtha�"especially serving with the Boy Scouts and was awarded the Silver Beaver in 1994.
Kevin is survived by his wife Cindy, their children and grandchildren, sister, Melanie Eppich, Ogden, Kelly Eppich, Studio City, CA, Kerry [Sheri] Eppich, Layton and many other extended family members. His parents, a brother Kimm, his grandparents, Ernest and Ida Davidson, Leonard and Sarah Eppich and his father-in-law Gaylord Harward, preceded him in death.
A viewing will be held Tuesday, October 14 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Wheeler Mortuary, 211 E 200 S, Springville, Utah and Wednesday, October 15, 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the Springville Dry Creek Stake Center, 1100 W 900 S Springville. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at the Springville Dry Creek Stake Center. Burial will be in Ogden, Utah at Aultorest Memorial Park, 836 36th Street.
