Kenneth Atwood Dunn, age 92, returned home to his beloved wife and his Heavenly Father on February 16, 2015. Ken was born on July 19, 1922 in Tyhee, Idaho to Sam and Ethel Dunn.

As a Marine in WWII, he was at Pearl Harbor and fought in the battles of Guadalcanal (where he was wounded and later awarded a Purple Heart), Midway, and Tarawa. After his discharge from the military, he served as deputy sheriff in Blackfoot, Idaho where he met Itha LoRene Kesler when she came into the police station asking for a ride home. Ken and LoRene were married November 17 th , 1951 and later sealed for time and all eternity on June 7 th , 1962 in the Logan Utah LDS Temple.

Ken had many talents and interests along with an insatiable wanderlust which allowed him to work in a variety of trades. He found the most joy in traveling with his wife through 48 states as a trucker for NorthAmerican. After their trucking career, Ken and LoRene retired to a small farm in Pocatello, Idaho where Ken was able to share his love of fishing and other hobbies with his grandchildren. They later settled in Provo, Utah to be close to family.

Ken is preceded in death by LoRene, his wife of 56 years; his brothers: Lowell and Melvin and a granddaughter, Jill. He is survived by his five children: Dennis (Sherry) Dunn, Becky (John) Segesman, Lowell (Carol) Dunn, Shelly (Paul) Nance, Clark (Dori) Dunn; 22 grandchildren and many great grandchildren. He is also survived by two brothers: Wendell and Allen and his sister, Beth.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 19, 2015 at 1 p.m. in the LDS Chapel at 1625 S. Slate Canyon Drive, Provo, UT, with a viewing held from 11:30 to 12:30 p.m., prior to the service. Interment will be in the Springville Historic Cemetery under the direction of Wheeler Mortuary.
