1928 ~ 2014
On March 18, 2014 Kenard Taylor Stephenson passed from this life to the waiting arms of his eternal sweetheart. Kenard Taylor Stephenson, age 86, died peacefully at home surrounded by his family.
Kenard was born February 3, 1928 at his home in Levan, UT; The third child to Levern Martin Stephenson and Weltha Eva Taylor.
He was raised in Levan, UT and graduated from Juab High School.
He married his high School Sweetheart on December 8, 1947 in the Manti LDS Temple. Kenard was a devoted husband, father and grandfather and a friend to many.
He learned hard work at a very young age. After they were married, he worked at a Glass container business in Calif. And attended night school where he learned drafting which assisted his skill of masonry. He was a brick mason at Pittsburgh Steel Company in Calif. And was later transferred to Geneva Steel in Orem where he worked as a brick mason on the open hearth furnaces. He also helped lay brick on houses for 11 ½ years. He spent 36 years in the grocery store business where he continued to work until he retired from Storehouse Markets in Provo, Utah. He loved to do yard work and won several awards for yard of the month in Springville.
He was an active member of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and held many callings. He served an honorable service mission with his sweetheart and enjoyed working in the temple for many years.
He has left a legacy of love and devotion to his family and friends.
Kenard is preceded in death by his wife Beverly Ann Jackman Stephenson. His mother and father, a brother and sister. He is survived by four children Julie Ann (Ken) Mories, of Santa Clara, UT. Michael (Diane) Stephenson of Nephi, Kevin (Debbie) Stephenson of Spanish Fk, Tonya (David) Cherrington of Spanish Fk. 13 grandchildren, and 30 ½ great-grandchildren with weeks away of being a five-generation of a great-great granddaughter. One brother, Eldred (Mary) Stephenson of Ogden, UT.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, March 22, 2014 at 11 a.m. in the Spring Creek First Ward Chapel, 860 E. 200 N. Springville, UT. Friends may call on Friday evening from 6-8pm at the Wheeler Mortuary 211 E. 200 S. Springville, UT and also at the church one hour prior to services. Interment will be in the Springville Evergreen Cemetery.
