Karl William Peay, 84 one week shy of his 85th birthday, of Springville passed away Thursday October 29, 2020. He was born November 05, 1935 in Provo, UT to Jessie Adams and Charles (Chick) Gordon Peay. He married Deon Baker Peay on May 21, 1954.
Karl’s first job was setting bowling pins at Regal lanes, then went onto grave digging. His career was an iron worker for Mountain States Steel which changed to McNally Mountain States Steel where he worked for 30 years. He then worked for Praxair, and Action Target which is where he retired.
His hobbies include gardening, his damn cat, and camping. He liked to be outside especially at his kid’s property. He loved Sunday drives and getting ice cream from Cooks Ice Cream Shop in Provo. He loved to watch western movies.
Karl loved his family. Karl was always willing to help anyone out. He loved to run soda pops out to the garbage man as he picked up their garbage weekly. He would talk to anyone walking down the street.
Karl is survived by his wife of 67 years, Deon Baker, his 6 children; Steven (Janette) Peay, Elizabeth (Robert) Daniels, David (Merlene) Peay, Brenda (Philip) Casper, Teresa Peay, Nancy Shaw; 15 Grandkids, and 22 great grandkids, and one sister Jolene (Ross) Thomas. He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings and their spouses; Lael Lee, Robert Peay, Donna Adamson and Louise Peay.
Services are provided by Wheeler Mortuary with graveside service at Evergreen Cemetery in Springville. Graveside services for all friends and family will be held Tuesday, November 3rd, with social distancing being observed. Graveside service will begin at 11 a.m.
