Karen Christenson Cheney (78) died June 14, 2014 at her home in Springville, Utah. Karen was born April 20, 1936 in Centerfield, Utah to Howard and Duella Christenson. She married Maurice E. Cheney on September 3, 1955 in Gunnison, Utah. They were sealed in the Provo Temple in 1990. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in various callings, most recently, ward librarian. A calling she truly enjoyed.
She was known for her quilting, sewing, and crocheting. All talents she loved to share with her family.
Karen is survived by her four children: Susan (Todd) Shawver, Daniel (Tisa) Cheney, Donald (Wendy) Cheney, Nancy (Craig) Williams, 16 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, 4 siblings: Reuben, Paige, Richard, and Howard.
She is preceded in death by her parents and husband. Funeral services: Saturday, June 21, 2014, at 11 a.m. in the Spring Creek 3rd Ward Chapel at 55 North Main Street, Springville, with a viewing from 10 to 11 am, one hour prior to services. Viewing: Friday, June 20, 2014, from 6 to 8 pm at the Wheeler Mortuary, 211 E. 200 S., Springville, Utah. Burial: Gunnison City Cemetery.
