1926 ~ 2012
K Rene Smith Davis, 85, of Springville, Utah, died on September 21, 2012 at home after ten years of kidney dialysis. He was born December 21, 1926 in Roosevelt, Utah to John Henry and Nora LaRena Smith Davis, the youngest of eight children. His family moved to Compton, California in 1939. K gained his education there and later served in the U. S. Navy Medical Corps in World War II. He went on to work for General Electric for over three decades.
He was active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints all his life and served in many organizations. He particularly enjoyed working with the youth as Young Men's president, as a coach and athletic director, and in Scouting.
K married Mary Louise Whitesides in the Salt Lake Temple on August 27, 1951. They had sixty-one years of happiness together and had six children: Robert G. (Teri) Spring Valley, CA; David Paul (Darla) South Jordan, UT; Bradley K. (Susan) West Jordan, UT; Nancy Kay (deceased); Sandra L. of Springville, UT; and Steven R. (Glenda) Riverton, UT. They have ten grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.
K loved to go camping and fishing, especially with family. His cheerful, kind nature led him to take an interest in everyone and won him devoted friends wherever he lived. Even the fish liked him. The family would like to thank the staff at Da Vita Dialysis for their devoted care over the last several years.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 29 at 11:00 A.M. at the LDS Hunter Valley Chapel on 1700 East and 1095 South in Springville, Utah. A viewing will take place at the church prior to the service from 9:15 to 10:30. Interment will be at the Spanish Fork Cemetery.
