Julie Ann McKenzie Fairbanks

Julie Ann McKenzie Fairbanks passed away at her home in Orem Utah on Friday, July 22, 2011. She was born May 27, 1955 to Earl and Naomi Peirce McKenzie. She grew up in Springville and graduated from Springville High School. After graduation, she attended Brigham Young University. While there, she met Peter N. Fairbanks and they were married in the Provo Utah Temple. They had four children. They were later divorced.





Julie returned to Brigham Young University and graduated in April 2011 with a Bachelors Degree in History Teaching and was looking forward to teaching in the fall.





She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She fulfilled many callings in Primary, Young Women, Sunday School and was recently in the Relief Society in which she was a teacher.





Julie loved music and was involved with choirs as a singer or accompanist. She enjoyed attending musicals and plays. Julie was also passionate about quilting and fabric.





Julie was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Naomi P. McKenzie and a brother in law W. Darrell Hiatt. She is survived by her children and their spouses; Jared P. (Jennifer) Fairbanks and their 4 children, Trenton E. (Yi-Ning) Fairbanks and their 4 children, Jennifer F. (Darin) Childers and their 3 children and Lindsey F. (Kyle) Mang and their 2 children. She is also survived by a sister and two brothers: Kathy Hiatt, John (Pat) McKenzie, Bill McKenzie, and many wonderful neighbors and friends.





The funeral will be Friday, July 29, 2011 at 11:00 AM in the Cherry Hills 2nd Ward Building located at 1700 South 400 East in Orem Utah. A viewing will be held at the church preceding the services from 9:30 to 10:45 AM. Interment will be in the Evergreen Cemetery in Springville.
