Julia Staheli Rowland, age 92, of Springville, Utah passed away peacefully at home on April 2, 2016. She was born January 13, 1924, in Payson, Utah to George and Agnes Douglas Staheli. She was the seventh of eight children. She married Jack H. Rowland, June 6, 1941. They were later sealed in the Provo LDS Temple on March 10, 1979. He preceded her in death November 20, 2002. She was preceded in death by all her siblings.
Julia had three sons and was a beloved mother and grandmother. She worked at Barbazon Sewing plant as a sewing machine operator and was an accomplished seamstress. She was the lunch manager at Sage Creek Elementary School and Springville High School for many years. Julia served faithfully in many callings in the LDS church, including Relief Society President and as a Primary teacher for 18 years. Julia was a wonderful cook and homemaker and always made you feel welcome in her home. She was especially known for her homemade pies. She loved reading and studying the gospel and remained a faithful disciple of her Savior Jesus Christ until the end of her life.
Julia is survived by her three sons: Larry J. Rowland of Provo; Stephen J. Rowland (Barbara) of Payson; Jack E. Rowland (Zeny) of Provo; 6 grandchildren;19 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 6, 2016, at 11 AM at the Springville 6th Ward Chapel located at 860 E 200 N, Springville, UT. The viewing will be Tuesday, April 5, from 6-8 pm at Wheeler Mortuary, 211 East 200 South in Springville, or Wednesday at the church one hour prior to services. Burial will be in the Springville Evergreen Cemetery.
