Our beloved mother, grandmother and friend, Joyce Ranae Bjarnson Simpson passed from this life into the waiting arms of her husband and many family members, on August 14, 2013 at her home in Springville.

Born March 27, 1934 in Springville, the youngest child of Ray and Flora Bjarnson. She received her education in Springville, where she formed many friendships that would last a lifetime. She married her high school sweetheart Edwin (Ted) Simpson, in the Salt Lake Temple on February 10, 1954. Their enduring love and simple life was something to be admired and respected. Joyce was an active and faithful member of the LDS church, providing service in various callings and in her everyday interactions. Her talents in sewing, cooking and gardening brought pleasure to countless neighbors, ward members and friends. Her kindness touched the lives of all who were blessed enough to know her. Joyce was a friend to everyone, her sweet smile brightened many lives. Her greatest joy was found in her family. She was always more concerned about their happiness and comfort than she was her own. Her gentle influence, humble example and caring nature have left imprints on numerous hearts.

Survived by her 7 children: Gary (Kelly), David (Barbara), MeriLyn Metcalf (Milan), Lori Swenson (Dann), Craig (Shelly), Brent (Brooke), Gordon (Angela); 32 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and brother, Lynn Bjarnson. She is preceded in death by her husband, her parents, sisters: Wilda and Roslie and brothers: Hosmer, Glen and Leon.

Joyce we are better because we knew you, until we meet again...We love you!

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 20, 2013 at 11 a.m. in the LDS chapel at 878 W Center St. in Springville. There will be a viewing held on Monday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Wheeler Mortuary, 211 E 200 S, Springville and Tuesday at the church from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. prior to the services. Burial in the Springville Evergreen Cemetery.

A heartfelt thank you to all those who provided such loving care and tender devotion to Joyce.
