1926 - 2011





John L Collett, born on October 2, 1926, passed on September 22, 2011, after a long illness. He was at his home surrounded by his family.



John was born and raised in Springville, Utah. He was born to John T. and Josephine M. Collett. He married Lorraine Jordison in 1950 and was sealed in the Manti Temple. She preceded him in death. John married Irene Madson in 1984 at the Provo Temple and moved to Payson. He worked at Geneva Steel for 49 years.



He was active in the LDS church and held many positions. He enjoyed many trips with family and friends and was a long time member of the Drifters from Springville.



John is survived by his wife, Irene; his children, Karen (Doug), Terry, Tom, and Kristine; his grandchildren John, Nicole, Natalie, Carly, Clay, Cory, Colton, Jacob and Christian. He is survived by his sister, Mercedes Bjarnson and brother, Roger Collett. His sister Colleen preceded him in death. He is also survived by Irene's children, Cindy (LaMarr), Connie (Boyd) and Dennis (Doris). He also leaves behind his constant companion, Katie.



John will be greatly missed by all who knew him.



Services will be held on Wednesday, September 28, 2011 at 11 a.m. at the Parkview Ward, 711 S 600 E, Payson, UT. Viewings will be held on Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Wheeler Mortuary, 211 E 200 S, Springville and Wednesday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the church. Burial will be the in the Payson City Cemetery.
