John Kent Burt

Our beloved Husband, Father and Grandfather passed away Friday April 5 th with family by his side. He was born June 20th 1938 in Springville to Taylor C. and Harriett Lee Burt. He graduated from Springville H.S. and then attended BYU. He served his mission in the New England States Mission and fell in Love with the state of Maine. After his mission he married Glenna Warren in the Manti Temple on June 29th 1961, and of this union came four children; Brenda Revoir (Eddie), John Burt, Janet Leon Packer, and Neil Burt (Ashley), along with 11 grandchildren. Glenna passed away in Oct. 1993. On July 24th 1996 Kent finally convinced his love and sweetheart, Peggy Leslie, to accept his marriage proposal after more than two years of dating. With this union came five children: Randy Stevens (Michelle), Laurie Smith, Penny Coyner (Dave), Jennifer McCann, Justin Leslie (April), 21 Grandchildren and 14 Great Grandchildren. Kent served in many church callings and was always willing to help those in need. Kent was preceded in death by his Wife Glenna and his parents. Kent is survived by his wife Peggy, children, Brothers Rodney & Bryan Burt, and Sister Susan Sorenson.
Family and friends may attend a viewing on Tuesday April 9th from 6:00- 8:00 pm, and again on Wednesday April 10th from 9:30- 10:45 am at the LDS Stake Center located at 970 N 400 E, Mapleton. Funeral services will immediately follow at 11:00 am at the same location. Interment will be at the Springville Evergreen Cemetery, under the direction of Wheeler Mortuary.
