Joanna Johnson Fullmer was reunited with her sweetheart, Owen, October 6, 2020. At the time of her passing she was residing at Legacy Village Care Center. She lived a happy and exemplary life.
Joanna was born in the spring of 1933, the third child and only girl of Zella and Athos Johnson. She took on much of the household responsibilities at age 12 when her father passed away and her mother returned to work. Joanna learned to cook, sew, care for the chickens and candle eggs to sell. As a teenager, Joanna enjoyed singing in a local choir where she met Owen, her future husband. Joanna and Owen were married Sept. 13, 1951 in the Manti temple. Together they were exceptional parents and grandparents to four children, Adele, Camille, Sherri and Brad, 18 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
Joanna volunteered as a long time leader in the 4-H program where she taught important life skills. She also earned a bachelor's degree in Home Economics from the University of Utah. She used her degree to pursue a career as a Home Economics teacher at Payson High School. She and her husband honorably served as missionaries in the Philippines, Cebu mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints from 1995-1996.
