After battling Multiple Sclerosis with courage and dignity for 40+ years, Joan Louise Bargeron Bjarnson, age 70, beloved mother, grandmother, sister and friend returned home to our Heavenly Father, on December 24, 2021at her home in Springville, Utah. She was born in Provo, Utah on January 19, 1951to loving parents, Cecil Gordon Bargeron and Ruby Jane Bartholomew. Joan grew up in Provo, Utah. She married Max Craig Bjarnson, later divorced.
Joan loved life. Over the years she had many friends she enjoyed doing activities with. She especially loved being a mother to her boys, grandmother to her grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Her greatest desire was to instill the love of the Gospel into their lives. The family loved to go camping and enjoy the great outdoors. She loved going to the temple as a patron and do work for those that did not get the opportunity while in this life. When her health permitted, she made many weekly trips to the temple. She had friends and care givers that helped her get to the temple.
Joan is survived by her children: Kenneth John (Mena) Bjarnson, Jeremy Scott Bjarnson, Jeffery Alan (Beth) Bjarnson, Kevin Craig Bjarnson, and Daniel Brett Bjarnson; 9 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Joan Louise was the youngest of five children: Kim Gordon Bargeron (Carolyn), Cecil Brent Bargeron (Marilyn), Laura Beth Bargeron Emmerson (Bud), and Ruth Jane Cottam (Tom).
Joan was preceded in death by her mother, father, brother Kim, and granddaughter Kallie.
We love you. We miss you, beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend.
The family wishes to thank the many care givers that have helped and aided Joan over the years for their kindness and care of their mother. Special thanks to son Kevin Bjarnson for his constant love and diligent care of his mother.
There will be a public viewing held at the Wheeler Mortuary located at 211 E 200 S, Springville, Utah, from 11:00 to 11:45 a.m. prior to the family services.
Interment will be in the Provo City Cemetery.
