Jimmy Dale Blackett 81 of Springville passed away January 9, 2015. He was born June 7 1933 to Robert Earl and Edna Knudsen Blackett of Springville. He married Loretta Giles Blackett June 4, 1953.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and spending time with his family. He taught his children and grandchildren to love and respect the outdoors, he found serenity in nature. He enjoyed watching his children and grand children accomplish their goals and took great pride in each of them.
He is survived by his wife Loretta Blackett of Springville, five children; Jim (Laurie) Blackett of Springville; Dale (Kristi) Blackett of Santaquin; Julia (Mike) Palfreyman of Mapleton; Laura (Jim) Boben of Salem; and Mark (Darci) Blackett of Mapleton, 15 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren, one sister Joyce (Burt) Giles of Springville and one brother John (Ann) Blackett of Salt Lake City and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents Robert Earl and Edna Blackett and his siblings: Dean, Bud, Shirley, Fern, and Carol.
There will be a memorial service Wednesday January 14, 2015 @ 11:00 a.m. at Wheeler Mortuary, 211 East 200 South Springville, Utah. Burial will be in the Springville Evergreen Cemetery.
