It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend, Jeremy Alan Esklund, who left us too soon on January 7, 2025, at the age of 24 in Springville, UT. Jeremy’s life was tragically cut short by suicide, but his impact on those who knew him will never be forgotten.

Jeremy was born on May 5, 2000, in Provo, UT, to Reed Alan Esklund and Trina Rae Price. From an early age, he was a whirlwind of energy and mischief, always keeping his family on their toes. His playful nature as a child was evident in his love of sports, including football, basketball, soccer, and baseball. Jeremy was known for his great sense of humor, always quick with a joke or a witty remark. He had a particular talent for dad jokes, and never missed an opportunity to make us laugh.

Jeremy was fiercely loyal to his family and friends. He had a deep desire to serve others, which he demonstrated throughout his life. Jeremy enlisted in the United States Marine Corps on May 13, 2019, and earned the esteemed title of US Marine just 13 weeks later. Over the next four years, he served with honor as a Military Police Officer at Camp Lejeune, NC, where he earned numerous personal awards and recognition for his dedication to his country and his fellow Marines.

While stationed in North Carolina, Jeremy met and married Kaylee Loader. Though their marriage was brief, it brought meaningful moments and was an important chapter in his life.

After returning home from the military, Jeremy sought new ways to serve others, which led him to work at a youth home. Determined to make a greater impact, he began college to further his education and expand his ability to make a difference. Jeremy discovered a love for painting alongside his brother Christopher, and most recently, he developed an interest in photography.

Jeremy was a proud and loving uncle to Kinsley and Myles, and his family was the center of his life. He is survived by his parents, Reed & Trina Esklund of Springville, UT; his siblings, Ericka (Ryan) Watts of Yuma, AZ; Cynthia (Trey) Rutter of Springville, UT; Christopher Esklund of Springville, UT; and Grandmother Raeann Reading of Payson, UT. He is also survived by his former spouse, Kaylee Loader of Springville, UT.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 18th, at 11:00 am in the Spring Creek 10th Ward chapel, located at 672 North 250 West, Springville, UT. A viewing for family and friends will take place Friday evening, January 17th, from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at Wheeler Mortuary, 211 East 200 South, Springville, UT, as well as Saturday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 am just prior to the service. Burial will follow at the Springville Evergreen Cemetery, where Jeremy will be honored with military rites by the American Legion.
